FREE Income Tax Prep and Filing at CAA Community Action Agency has FREE tax preparation assistance available for residents in Jackson, Lenawee, & Hillsdale counties whose 2011 household income was $50,000 or less. IRS Certified Volunteers will assist with tax credits and will prepare and e-file federal, state, and city (where applicable) taxes at no cost.
Home In Partnership Park FOR SALE Securing affordable housing for families and increasing home ownership are some of CAA’s top priorities.  To that effort, CAA purchased a vacant property in the Partnership Park Neighborhood in Jackson.  The 6-month rehab project used MSDHA and the City of Jackson HOME funds to complete. County Infant Death Rate at Record Low CAA was instrumental in starting the Center for Healthy Beginnings in 1991 when the infant mortality rate was high and women weren't receiving prenatal care, that year 125 babies were born. Last year, the Center for Family Health helped more than 26,000 people with health, medical, and dental care and pharmacy support. The county infant death rate is at a record low.
Income Tax Report 2004-2010 79 volunteers worked 8,800 hours with the Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) and helped more than 9,000 people file taxes this year, with credits and refunds.
Michigan Community Action Media Campaign Check out the new radio and television spots highlighting the work of Community Action Agency's across the State of Michigan.  The Michigan Community Action Agency Association and the Michigan Association of Broadcasters sponsored these announcements to increase awareness about Community Action services.  TV-Success, TV-Awareness.
