2015 CAA Walks for Warmth Updates
Our walks in Jackson and Lenawee were a great success. People from all over the state sent in donations, pledges and came to walk with us in an effort to help those individuals and families in need of utility assistance.
Despite the bitter cold, over 930 registered to walk and the Jackson walk on Friday, February 20th raised over $52,000. Less severe temperatures in Adrian brought snow while over 100 community members joined together for Adrian's walk on Saturday the 21st raising over $48,750. Those amounts included generous matches from Consumers Energy.
The success is due to the hard work and dedication of our partners. While Consumers Energy organizes our walk in Jackson, the walk in Adrian in organized by their local United Way with a tremendous amount of support from their Emerging Leaders.
Thank you all. It is not to late to help those in your community. Donations are still rolling in and you can help us in the War on Poverty.
Donations can be sent to Community Action Agency, 1214 Greenwood Ave, Jackson, MI 49203. Attention: Walk for Warmth. Please designate what county you would like to receive your support.
