This program is available in Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties.
Overview
 
Through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, Community Action Agency provides trained tax preparers to complete and E-file basic tax returns for individuals and families for FREE. Trained volunteer preparers are available to assist you with questions.
 
 
 
What kind of taxes can I file through CAA?
Federal, State, Select City Tax Returns
 
Filers may also be eligible for the:
Child Tax Credit
Earned Income Tax Credit
Homestead Property Credit
Home Heating Credit
Prescription Drug Refund
 
 
Who Is Eligible ?
1. Low Income, families, individuals, or small buisnesses that earned $49,000 or less in annual household income
2. Anyone receiving social security benefits
3. Anyone receiving veteran's benefits
 
 
 
Next Step: Call your local CAA office to schedule an appointment Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. At your appointment, the trained volunteer preparer will enter your tax information into the computer and print out a copy of your completed income tax documents. Your return will be E-filed directly to the IRS and State of Michigan.

at no cost to you!

Completes, prints, and E-files on your behalf your income tax documents.

Is available to answer basic income tax questions or direct you to an appropriate specialist.
