To Whom It May Concern:

On behalf of the Jackson County Continuum of Care, on September 10, 2019, I sent approval letters to all applicants requesting funding through the Jackson County Continuum of Care in the 2019 NOFA funding cycle.

Specifically, Community Action Agency was notified that the four renewal applications it submitted were fully funded, and the 2 Bonus funding applications it submitted were also approved for the amount requested. TTI was notified that the one renewal application it submitted was also approved for funding at the amount requested.

No applications were rejected and no funding was reallocated.

The Continuum of Care also approved a Planning grant to address priority implementation gaps in our coordinated discharge activities as well as other housing planning work to be submitted by Community Action Agency.

CSBG Public Notice FY 2020-Posted 08/23/2019

The Community Action Agency will accept public comments as required by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services CSBG State Plan for FY 2020.  Public comments will be accepted on the CSBG FY 2020 proposed plan from August 27th, 2019 to September 10th, 2019.

The plan Summary is as follows: A total of $612,491 of CSBG funds is planned to be utilized in the Jackson, Lenawee and Hillsdale Counties for the general purpose(s) of education , community development, housing, economic self-sufficiency, to meet the needs of the low-income community of these counties who meet eligibility requirements and would benefit from our services. Services are targeted to low income persons.

Request for Proposals: Jackson County Continuum of Care

Please consider this notification by the Jackson County Continuum of Care (MI-517) that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development 2019 Continuum of Care Program Application is available. Eligible organizations can apply for Continuum of Care Program Funding through the esnaps system. Information on registration and application is available at https://www.hudexchange.info/e-snaps/ . In addition to renewal funding, new permanent housing bonus funding in the amount of $41,202  and DV bonus funding in the amount of $55,534 are both available for application. Information on the use of these funds can be found in the Continuum of Care Notice of Funding Availability at the following link: https://www.hudexchange.info/resource/5842/fy-2019-coc-program-nofa/ . All parties applying for funding through this competition must submit their application to the Continuum of Care through the esnaps system by 5 p.m. on August 16, 2019.

The Quality Committee will review these applications by 8/22/2019, and ask for corrections to be returned by 8/28/2019. The Quality Committee will meet to on 8/29/2019 at the Jackson Housing Commission at 11 am to make recommendations for ranking for the full CoC body to vote on.

The CoC will meet on 9/3/2019 at 10 am at disAbility Connections to vote on project applications. All applicants will be notified of the status of their application, in writing, no later than 9/5/2019. As the lead agency, Community Action Agency will post this notification and the final submission on its website, www.caajlh.org, on the Jackson CoC website at, jxncoc.com and a notice will be sent out via 211. All parts of the Jackson County Continuum of Care Consolidated application will be posted by September 30, 2019.
